It’s time to talk to your classmates, friends, cousins and brothers about all the fun you’ve been having with Pack 909!

Here’s the plan.  Beginning June 5th till the end of September 2009, we are having a Cub Scout Recruiting Roundup to signup new boys to join Cub Scouts and Pack 909!   Our goal this year is to recruit a minimum of 15 new boys into Cub Scouting with Pack 909.   We want to recruit 6 new rising 1st graders for next year’s Tiger Den, 5 more rising 2nd graders to add to next year’s Wolf den, and 4 boys from 3rd thru 5th grades for the other dens.

Here’s the prize.  Any Cub that recruits a new boy into Cub Scouting and Pack 909 will get a Centennial Recruiter Patch (shown below) and will receive his Pinewood Derby Car Kit for free for this next year.  If the Cub recruits two or more boys, he will also get his rocket kit for free!    Additionally, for every new boy that a Cub recruits, the Cub’s name will go into a drawing for a gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods.   How much is the gift card worth?  For every new boy that joins Pack 909 during the recruiting period, $10 will be added to the card.   So, by reaching our goal, the card could be worth a maximum of $150!

What do the boys who are new to Cub Scout going to get?  One, a great place to have fun, two, a survival tool from the Council, and a Cub Scout Dog tag.

Here are the rules:

1.      This Recruiting Roundup is for the Cub Scouts of Pack 909 only.

2.      No Sharing!!!   Only one Cub can recruit a new boy.

3.      The boy being recruited must be new to Cub Scouts OR have not been active in Cubs for at least one full charter year OR recently moved to the area and haven’t decided on a unit yet, in order for the Cub to receive the Recruiting Patch.  If you have friends in other local units that have an interest in transferring to our pack, they are welcome but are not considered recruits in this Roundup.

4.      A boy is “recruited” when they have filled out the BSA Cubscout application, Pack Application and paid the BSA and Pack dues.

5.      New boys recruited at School Scout Night events cannot be counted unless their parent says they were referred to the event by one of our Cubs.

6.      Leaders are eligible for the patch if they participate in School Scout Nights, but not the prizes.

So get out and talk to your buddies!!   Talk to them about all the cool things we do and the great fun we have!  Get them to a meeting!
